Fotografia experimental

Nesta oficina, os participantes terão a oportunidade de recolher objetos do Parque Palmela e registar-lhes as sombras através do processo inventado por William Henry Fox Talbot – o Papel Salgado. 

Fox Talbot começou as suas experiências no sentido de encontrar materiais fotossensíveis que permitissem o registo de uma imagem, os primeiros objetos que utilizou para criar as suas sciagraphs (desenhos de sombras) foram plantas. Estas imagens fotográficas primitivas, cujo processo de desenvolvimento deu origem a uma das mais importantes obras publicadas no domínio da fotografia – o livro ‘The Pencil of Nature’, de 1844. 

As impressões assim obtidas, juntamente com os espécimes que lhe deram origem são por fim incorporadas num ‘micro-álbum’, uma mistura de herbário e álbum de fotografias, que os participantes levarão como resultado do processo.

Of Salt and Shadow – Salted paper workshop, by Imagerie 

In this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to collect objects from Marechal Carmona Park and register their shadows through the process invented by William Henry Fox Talbot – Salted paper.

Fox Talbot started his experiments in order to find photosensitive materials that would allow the registration of an image, the first objects he used to create his sciagraphs (drawings of shadows) were plants. These primitive photographic images, whose development process gave rise to one of the most important works published in the field of photography – the book ‘The Pencil of Nature’, from 1844.

The impressions got in this way, together with the specimens that gave birth to them, are finally incorporated into a ‘micro-album’, a mixture of herbarium and photo album, which the participants will take with them as a result of the process.
